The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice on health, safety, quality, and environmental matters to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
- Assist the operational team in reviewing CDM documentation and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Develop and maintain a positive HSQE culture by promoting a culture of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility.
- Ensure all requirements and findings are closed within the required timescales.
- Promote the closure of NCR's and OFI's within the project.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Encourage quality contributions and ensure timely close out and feedback is actioned, promote lessons learnt and good practice sharing.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with site teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Promote health and wellbeing support, and direct staff where required.
- Prepare and deliver workforce (including subcontractors) engagement (tool box talks, awareness sessions).
- Lead on Level 1 investigations.
Qualifications and Training:
- NEBOSH NGC
- IOSH Membership Grad – Chartered (or equivalent)
- IEMA Practitioner member or above (or equivalent)
- PETALS
- Mental Health First Aider
- Driving Licence
- Kelvin Top Set 1 day 1 - 3
- Report writing course
- Behavioural Safety Training including TCUP
Desirable Qualifications:
- CSCS
- EUSR
- PTS
Knowledge and Experience:
- Understanding of working methods
- Industrial knowledge across the infrastructure Services areas of Business
- Basics of management systems
- Site inspections and risk assessment experience
- Site experience
- Reviewing CDM and industry
- Sustainability and carbon capture
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent listening behaviours
- Positive attitude
- Ability to work weekends when required.
- Ability to work overtime when required.
- Ability to use IT systems including Microsoft 365, and HSQE specific systems.
- Excellent time management and relationship skills, comfortably working effectively within a broad range of working environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills able to communicate clearly to inform and influence others; uses appropriate, effective methods to deliver messages.
- Embraces and drives continuous improvement, challenging the status quo for the benefit of the business, supporting learning and development.
