Environmental Manager – Highways

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to join our team at Pinnacle Recruitment Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing environmental advice and support to our clients in the highways sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the review of environmental documentation, including environmental statements, flood modeling, noise modeling, and ecology surveys.
  2. Provide written environmental reports, management plans, and strategies as needed.
  3. Offer advice, support, and assistance to operational and project personnel to enable them to deliver and manage their environmental and sustainable responsibilities and objectives.
  4. Collaborate with the environmental lead and wider Infrastructure environmental team to develop and implement best practice initiatives and deliver ad-hoc improvement projects.
  5. Develop and deliver suitable environmental and sustainability training for all project staff.
  6. Represent and promote the Environment Enabling Function in internal and external meetings, workshops, management reviews, and forums – communicating best practice standards and initiatives.
  7. Write, update, review, and ensure compliance with the project Construction Environmental Management Plan, Site Waste Management Plan, other relevant environmental management plans, and associated documentation.

Requirements:

  1. Must have highways experience.
  2. Degree level in an appropriate Environmental or relevant discipline.
  3. Substantiated construction industry experience or relevant environmental experience in a similar sector.
  4. Minimum Practitioner Membership with IEMA or similar professional membership.
  5. Full driving license and willingness to travel across projects/contracts in the region.
  6. Competent IT skills.
