As a Senior Technical Claims Specialist, you will take charge of a portfolio of intricate claims valued up to £500,000, encompassing severe injuries and fatalities. Your role will involve operating within the company's Delegated Authority, ensuring accurate reserving, and reporting to reinsurers as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse caseload with a proactive approach, ensuring effective diary management while meeting personal KPIs and SLAs.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of claims to ensure realistic and precise reserving in accordance with best practices, escalating cases that exceed your authority.
  • Deliver comprehensive and timely written reports, along with verbal presentations, to stakeholders and reinsurers.
  • Identify opportunities to engage external suppliers to optimize outcomes while minimizing claims expenditure.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior claims handlers as needed.
  • Enhance your technical expertise through ongoing training and seminars, sharing insights and training on identified issues.
  • Contribute to the establishment of technical philosophies and best practices within the business, participating in relevant projects as required.
