About the Role

The Sales Manager - MICE will be an integral member of the sales team, responsible for overseeing group and catering related opportunities at W Edinburgh. Reporting to the Director of Sales, this role will play a key part in driving revenue growth and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the Director of Sales and team to ensure understanding of sales strategy and effective implementation of this strategy for the segments you are responsible for
  • Provide positive and aggressive leadership to ensure maximum revenue potential
  • Participate in sales calls with members of sales team to acquire new business and/or close on business
  • Analyze market information by using sales systems and implement strategy to achieve the property's financial room and catering goals
  • Review sales and catering guest satisfaction results to identify areas of improvement
  • Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Work collaboratively with off-property sales channels to ensure the property needs are being achieved and the sales efforts are complementary, not duplicative
  • Execute and support the operational aspects of business booked (e.g. generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence)
  • Be a W brand ambassador, ensuring the brand's voice is present in your interactions with guests and talent
  • Empower your team to resolve guest issues independently and with confidence
  • Work in collaboration with all heads of departments to ensure a successful hotel operation
  • Identify new business to achieve personal and location revenue goals
  • Understand the overall market - competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them
  • Closing the best opportunities for the location based on market conditions and location needs
  • Gaining understanding of the location's primary target customer and service expectations; serving the customer by understanding their business, business issues and concerns, to offer better business solutions

  • Strong organization and multi-tasking skills
  • Sophisticated communication skills
  • Previous experience working in luxury hotel sector
  • Previous experience working with domestic and international groups from different markets
  • A positive mindset
  • A genuine passion for their role
