About the Role

The Chaplaincy Specialist will play a key role in supporting the spiritual growth of children and young people in the Church of England. This position is focused on educational chaplaincy at primary, secondary, and further education levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise and inform educational chaplains on best practices and resources.
  • Contribute to existing networks for chaplains and develop new ones as needed.
  • Encourage diversity within chaplaincy through coaching, discernment, and encouragement of potential chaplains from underrepresented backgrounds.
  • Support the development of new training programs for chaplains.

Requirements:

  • Recent experience as an educational chaplain connected to a church, deanery, or diocese.
  • Strategic leadership experience in an educational or diocesan role.
  • Understanding of and passion for the aims and work of the Church of England.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Personal attributes: A communicant member of the Church of England.
