About the Role

The Chaplaincy Specialist will play a key role in supporting the spiritual growth and development of children and young people in the Church of England. This role will focus on educational chaplaincy at primary, secondary, and further education levels, working closely with chaplains and chaplaincy teams to promote the value of chaplains in the spiritual nurture of children, young people, and adults.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise and inform educational chaplains on best practices and strategies for spiritual growth and development
  • Contribute to the development of new training programs and resources for chaplains
  • Encourage diversity and inclusion within chaplaincy, promoting a culture of awareness, coaching, and encouragement
  • Support the growth of vocations to chaplaincy, particularly among under-represented groups
  • Collaborate with the Networks Lead to develop and facilitate new networks for chaplains

About You

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual with a passion for educational chaplaincy and a strong understanding of the Church of England's vision and strategy. The ideal candidate will have recent experience as an educational chaplain, strategic leadership experience, and a deep commitment to the spiritual growth and development of children and young people.

Requirements:

  • Recent experience as an educational chaplain, connected to a church, deanery, or diocese
  • Recent strategic leadership experience in an educational, diocesan, or national role
  • Understanding of and passion for the aims and work of the Growing Faith Foundation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and collaborate effectively
  • Personal attributes: A communicant member of the Church of England
