Job Description

Themis Recruit is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wills and Estates Solicitor to join our client's growing team. As a key member of the Post-Death team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on wills, probate, and estate administration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Engagement: Take instructions from clients and prepare wills, lasting powers of attorney, and general powers of attorney.
  • Probate and Estate Administration: Manage probate and estate administration cases, including those involving Inheritance Tax (IHT) and intestacy rules.
  • Trusts and Taxation: Understand the principles of trusts and taxation, including the creation and administration of life interest trusts and discretionary trusts.
  • Court of Protection and Deputyship: Be aware of the Court of Protection and deputyship work, particularly in relation to older clients.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications and Experience: NQ-3 years PQE (Solicitor or CILEX) with a strong understanding of wills, probate, and estate administration.
  • Professional Development: Good team player with a self-sufficient and self-supporting approach. Ability to deal with clients from diverse backgrounds and demographics.
  • Business Development: Willingness to participate in networking and business development activities, promoting the firm's interests and reputation.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work calmly and methodically under pressure.
