Position Summary:

The primary responsibilities of the Practice Operations Coordinator include, but are not limited to:

  • Contributing to the practice team in delivering patient-centered services for our patients, their families, and the community.

About Narberth Surgery:

We are a stable, sustainable, and high-performing practice with the capacity to support various training schemes. Our team possesses a wealth of knowledge and expertise.

Our current staff includes six GP Partners, two salaried GPs, one Pharmacist, one Practice Manager, one Practice Operations Coordinator, four Receptionists, five Administrators, four Practice Nurses, and two Health Care Assistants/Phlebotomists.

We aim to provide a friendly and caring service to our patients, ensuring same-day appointments for those who require them.

Our practice is fully computerized and utilizes the EMIS Web system, which aids in achieving national and local targets while facilitating accurate data collection for audits. This system has also improved our repeat prescribing process and management of chronic diseases.

Our practice serves a rural area of 150 square miles, catering to approximately 9,000 patients.

Job Responsibilities:

Summary:

Assist in the efficient operation of administrative tasks related to the administrative team and IT and communication systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the administrative functions of the EMIS and IT information systems.
  • Providing IT support to all clinical and administrative staff.
  • Assisting the Practice Manager with data and report generation.
  • Supporting the practice in computer training and maximizing income through accurate information recording.
  • Researching and reporting on new software and hardware developments, assisting in the management of new system implementations.
  • Performing general administrative and reception duties as needed.
  • Overseeing all aspects of systems management.
  • Maintaining and validating the EMIS system.
  • Configuring EMIS system templates and protocols, including appointment scheduling and staff rota management.
  • Conducting searches and audits of the clinical system as requested.
  • Maintaining knowledge of Enhanced Services and the Quality and Outcome Framework.
  • Providing training and ongoing support for all practice staff in the use of practice systems.
  • Liaising with external computer system support departments.
  • Assisting the Practice Manager in ensuring compliance with Data Security (GDPR), Information Governance, and Health & Safety policies.
  • Maintaining and updating the practice's website and intranet.
