About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Ward Clerk in the Gynaecology Department. As a key member of our administrative team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our medical and nursing staff, ensuring the smooth operation of the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the medical and nursing staff, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and managing correspondence.
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including case notes, admission and discharge documents, and laboratory reports.
  • Coordinate patient appointments, including scheduling and reminders, and ensure that all necessary documentation is completed and filed.
  • Assist with the preparation of patient information and documentation for medical and nursing staff, including medication lists, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient activity, including admission and discharge dates, treatment plans, and outcomes.
  • Provide support with the management of departmental supplies, including ordering and inventory management.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports and statistics for the department, including patient outcomes and activity data.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as required, including data entry, filing, and photocopying.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare administrative role, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with medical and nursing staff, patients, and families.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
