Position Overview
We are pleased to announce a fantastic opportunity for a Lead Nurse to become part of our Adult Surgical Ward team at NHS Lanarkshire.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating patient care requirements and assessing care plans, ensuring the provision of exceptional healthcare services to our patients.
In the absence of the Senior Lead Nurse/Team Leader, the individual in this role will maintain ongoing accountability for the management and clinical oversight of the unit, which includes staff supervision, development, and allocation.
Responsibilities may differ based on the specific ward or department and the level of patient care required.
UK NMC REGISTRATION IS MANDATORY FOR THIS POSITION

Qualifications and Skills Required
- Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration
- Educated to or working towards a Degree Level
- Postgraduate expertise in the relevant specialty demonstrating the necessary breadth of knowledge to lead safely and effectively.
- Comprehensive understanding of clinical guidelines and standards within the specialty.
- Specialized knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, policies, and procedures associated with the specialty, ensuring expertise is utilized for effective leadership.
- Leadership capabilities to manage daily service delivery.
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development in the specialty, including courses and postgraduate qualifications.
- Strong team-working and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire others and work independently.
- Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Effective time management abilities.
