About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Occupational Therapy Department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our service users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Occupational Therapist to deliver one-to-one interventions and group work, promoting independence and improving overall emotional wellbeing.
  • Develop and implement creative and practical skills to support service users in achieving their goals.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a well-equipped environment that supports therapeutic interventions.
  • Collaborate with the forensic community OT team and external partners to support transitions out into the community.
Requirements
  • NVQ level 3 in Healthcare or relevant qualification.
  • Competency in one or more leisure/creative/technical activity.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Occupational Therapy principles and practices.
  • Ability to work within a recovery and person-centred model.
