Overview: We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to contribute to our projects within the Major Projects division. This role involves overseeing significant construction and civil engineering undertakings.

Location: Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth

Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assume comprehensive commercial oversight for intricate subcontract packages throughout the construction lifecycle, from initial tendering to final account settlements.
  • Manage subcontractor relationships, including payment processing, final account negotiations, and resolving disputes, while ensuring alignment with cost and schedule forecasts.
  • Prepare accurate monthly cost/value reports for work packages, collaborating with project teams to analyze results and identify trends.
  • Optimize cash flow by ensuring timely receipt and disbursement of payments, while producing applications for payments in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Oversee change management and risk assessment processes within work packages, supporting the broader project commercial team with necessary contract notifications.
  • Contribute to the development of monthly and quarterly reports, providing financial and contractual performance insights to the management team to exceed business objectives and project KPIs.

Candidate Profile:

This position is ideal for individuals who:

  • Hold a degree or possess equivalent experience in a similar capacity.
  • Have a solid understanding of ECC NEC4 contracts.
  • Exhibit strong IT proficiency, particularly in MS Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess a valid driving license.
