Our operations run 24/7, and you will be required to cover various early and late shifts, totaling hrs pw. Flexibility is essential due to the nature of the role, which may involve different working arrangements and additional hours. While your finishing times may vary, we provide a rota in advance to ensure you have the flexibility to enjoy your personal time.

Role Overview:

As a CSO, you will collaborate with your team to deliver safe and secure escorting and custody services for detainees, with a strong focus on their physical and mental wellbeing.

During court proceedings, you will oversee all aspects of detainee care until they are returned to custody or released. Key responsibilities include accompanying defendants in courtrooms and holding cells, conducting searches of property and individuals, ensuring the availability of food and drink, and completing necessary paperwork and data entry for the day.

Qualifications and Skills:

Our current CSOs come from diverse backgrounds, and your previous experience is not a determining factor; what matters is your commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. You will receive comprehensive training during your 5 1/2-week course and ongoing support from experienced colleagues.

Ideally, you should possess a valid driver's license, maintain reasonable physical fitness, and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively manage various situations. This role is particularly suited for individuals with an interest in criminology or psychology.

Assessment Process:

The selection process includes an online assessment, a briefing call to evaluate eligibility, a competency-based virtual interview, and a short role-play and written exercise.

Important Information:

All positions are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 4, and all employment offers are contingent upon Ministry of Justice Enhanced Level 2 checks, including Enhanced DBS (Adult & Child Barring) and satisfactory employment references.
