Priory Hospital Market Weighton is a CQC registered independent hospital dedicated to providing person-centered, recovery-focused care and treatment for males experiencing mental illness.
Our purpose-built facility offers a safe and structured environment for individuals transitioning from admission to semi-independent living within the hospital's flat scheme and ultimately to residential services upon discharge.
We are seeking a Part-Time Cook to join our friendly teamYou will play a vital role in preparing nutritious and balanced meals for our residents, ensuring dietary requirements and allergies are carefully considered.
Your Responsibilities:- Plan and prepare meals for up to 20 individuals, adhering to food safety guidelines and best practices.
- Ensure meals are balanced, healthy, and cater to individual dietary needs and allergies.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment by following established protocols for storage, refrigeration, and equipment sanitation.
- Manage inventory, including ordering supplies, receiving deliveries, and maintaining stock rotation.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- A common-sense approach to problem-solving and initiative.
- Understanding and empathy for individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
- Relevant culinary qualifications (NVQ or equivalent) and a Food Safety Level 2 certification or higher.
