About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Assistant Designer to join our Special Purchase and Kidswear team. As an Assistant Designer, you will play a key role in supporting the creation and development of seasonal design ranges, balancing creative and commercial needs to deliver against the Concept brief.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the creation and development of seasonal design ranges across Special Purchase and Kidswear.
- Work across multiple products, managing varied and exciting projects within a dynamic team.
- Implement the seasonal Design Direction set out by the CBO, Design Director, and the Concept Team to drive strategic objectives daily.
- Assist in creating a broad variety of styles that creatively respond to a brief, embracing a commercial eye and a think outside of the box approach.
- Assist in creating CADs, Colour ups, and developing exciting new product ranges.
- Perform ad-hoc responsibilities on behalf of the team, including racking up products for meetings and checking artwork submissions.
- Follow a customer-led approach, supported by store visits, competitive shops, and inspirational shopping.
Requirements:
- Illustrator proficiency with a Fashion Design Degree or equivalent experience.
- An outgoing, friendly, and enthusiastic nature with the ability to adapt and work collaboratively with our close-knit team.
- A genuine excitement about the brand and a keen interest in the fashion and retail industry.
- Confidence in switching between different products, with a varied and fast-paced workload.
- Able to work cross-functionally and build strong rapport and relationships across the wider teams.
- Understanding of commercial acumen, customer, and market positioning.
- Excellent trend prediction and translation into contemporary relevance for the brand.
- A genuine sense of resourcefulness and the ability to drive the role forward.
Location:
This is a full-time role based at our Market Harborough Head Office in Leicestershire, requiring presence in the office 5 days per week.
