We are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to collaborate with our exceptional team in delivering a premier financial accounting service related to capital initiatives.

Your primary responsibilities will include developing and overseeing comprehensive planning, reporting, forecasting, and monitoring systems for substantial capital projects. This involves identifying potential challenges and proposing effective solutions, assisting in the formulation of business cases, and ensuring robust financial governance and risk management throughout the capital program.

Capital Management - you will maintain the multi-year capital strategy, analyze and prepare intricate information to facilitate decision-making, assist the Finance Manager with business cases for capital investment, and work alongside non-financial colleagues to enhance the accuracy and costing of new initiatives.

You will also take ownership of the fixed asset register and enhance systems for capital accounting, along with various other responsibilities.
Project Involvement - provide guidance to colleagues on organization-wide projects and contribute financial expertise to develop processes.

You will be responsible for providing and reviewing financial data for business cases and funding requests, as well as engaging in other ad hoc project tasks as necessary.

Financial Services and Team Leadership - you will manage a team of three financial accountants, including mentoring and developing their skills. You will prepare management reports and quarterly forecasts, support budgeting processes across departments, and coordinate financial information for reports and documentation, including the corporate risk register.
Qualifications - you should be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
You must possess a strong understanding of capital accounting principles.

A solid technical grasp of relevant regulatory and accounting frameworks (including Accounting Standards, VAT, income tax, and National Insurance), along with IT proficiency, particularly in Excel and accounting systems, is essential.

Audit experience, including some post-qualification exposure, is required.
Experience in project management is also necessary.
You should be capable of presenting complex financial data clearly to both senior and non-financial personnel.
