Overview of the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate nurse to join our dynamic team within the chemotherapy unit. This position offers a unique chance to engage with patients undergoing systemic anti-cancer therapies in a supportive and collaborative environment.

The Millbrook Suite is designed to provide comprehensive outpatient care, including a day care unit with 10 treatment chairs. Here, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the patient experience while developing your skills in Oncology and Haematology.

If you possess skills in cannulation, phlebotomy, or central line management, it will be beneficial; however, a willingness to learn and grow in these areas is equally valued. Effective communication with the multidisciplinary team is essential to ensure the highest standard of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients prior to chemotherapy to confirm their suitability for treatment.
  • Administer cytotoxic medications and other intravenous therapies in line with established protocols.
  • Facilitate pre-chemotherapy consultations, providing essential information and obtaining informed consent.
  • Identify and report any adverse reactions, collaborating with senior staff for optimal patient management.
  • Offer psychological and emotional support to patients, guiding them through their treatment journey.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Registered Nurse on part 1 of the professional register.
