Position Overview

As a Culinary Specialist, you will be part of a dedicated team at Sodexo, contributing to the rehabilitation efforts within the community.

Our Approved Premises (APs) play a crucial role in managing the risks associated with individuals transitioning from incarceration. This position offers valuable experience in working with diverse and vulnerable populations, providing insight into the residential aspects of the Criminal Justice System. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and present nutritious meals for residents.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in following recipes and experience in large-scale cooking.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen equipment, surfaces, and storage areas.
  • Manage food waste effectively during preparation and cooking processes.
  • Uphold the highest standards of health, safety, and hygiene in the kitchen.
  • Oversee food inventory, including receiving and checking stock, ensuring proper use of equipment, and monitoring portion sizes.
  • Collect routine data and perform daily checks, including temperature control during food production and storage.
  • Report any incidents, damages, or safety concerns to the Catering Supervisor promptly.
  • Ensure the Catering Department is opened and secured according to schedule.
  • Undertake additional tasks as required to support the department's operations.
  • Participate in relevant training sessions to enhance your skills and effectiveness in the role.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on culinary experience.
  • Strong understanding of food hygiene standards.
  • Ability to follow diverse recipes and willingness to explore various cuisines.
