Job Summary

This is an exciting time for Babington as we evolve our Customer Engagement strategy and structure to ensure we're in the best shape for the future. This position will prioritize your focus on three main areas:

  1. Relationship Development
  2. New Business Acquisition
  3. Team Leadership and Support

As a seasoned sales professional or account manager, you will be responsible for continuing to develop Babington's existing relationships, ensuring we really understand our customers' culture, business, and challenges, and are maximizing every opportunity.

You will also identify and win new business opportunities to ensure our continued growth. Additionally, you will support the Head of Customer Engagement as required, with the leadership and development of the team to provide guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure all team members understand what's expected, are delivering/exceeding their targets, and representing Babington's values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Senior/Strategic Account Management
    • Act as the main point of contact at a senior/strategic level to ensure customer satisfaction, through proactive communication and service delivery.
  • Networking and Market Analysis
    • Participate in industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to develop relationships with industry peers and prospective customers.
    • Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify prospective customers, new business opportunities, market trends, and a deep understanding of the funded learning and apprenticeship/competitor landscape.
  • Business Development and Sales
    • Develop strategies to stay ahead of the competition, drive business growth, and make recommendations for our overall sales approach and how we can best position our value and uniqueness across the market.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience of consistently meeting or exceeding targets & KPI's.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience managing and nurturing multiple accounts, acting as the main point of contact at a senior/strategic level.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with the ability to demonstrate extensive competence in business development, sales, or account management role.
  • Minimum 3 years demonstrable experience of working with customers within the relevant industry, with a deep understanding of trends, best practice, and challenges to provide valuable insights and recommendations related to your area of specialism.
  • A deep understanding of the UK apprenticeship landscape, including funding, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficient in using a CRM package to record and manage all customer interactions and sales activities.
  • Ability to travel 2-4 days a week to spend time with customers.
