Payroll and HR Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll and HR Administrator to join our team at General Index Limited. As a key member of our Finance and HR department, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our Finance and HR leads with a wide range of critical tasks.
Our company is a leading commodity benchmark provider, producing over 3,000 daily energy prices using detailed methodologies from thousands of trades collated from 170+ data partners. With offices in multiple locations, we have a complex payroll and HR system that requires a skilled administrator to manage.
Key Responsibilities:- Recruitment Support: Assist with job description preparation, posting on suitable career portals, and supporting the selection process and interview process.
- Onboarding: Prepare local onboarding documentation and contracts, issue them, and upload them in the relevant local HR and payroll systems.
- Payroll Management: Onboard new hires onto the appropriate payroll, HR, and benefits systems, and maintain local time and attendance records.
- Payroll Calculations: Prepare ad hoc/manual payroll calculations and respond to payroll and accounting enquiries from employees.
- Statutory Reporting: Manage statutory reporting and other payroll changes such as tax code amendments.
- Financial Support: Assist the VP Finance with month-end and year-end closing processes, gather payroll data for inclusion in financial statements and reports for management, and work closely with local office administrators to coordinate activities in the region.
- Closing Activities: Process all relevant closing out activity at the end of hire in line with local regional requirements for both HR and payroll processes.
We are looking for a candidate with previous experience processing payroll internally, externally, or through an outsourced model, ideally for more than one country. You should have solid HR administration experience, including a clear understanding of at least UK employment law relating to contract creation and HR system administration.
