About the Role
The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Medical Director to join our executive team. As a Medical Director, you will play a key role in providing leadership and direction to our medical workforce, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and promoting a culture of excellence within the hospital.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide professional leadership to our medical workforce, including coaching, guidance, and mentoring.
- Lead the delivery of our workforce plans for medical staff, including succession planning for senior clinical leadership roles.
- Develop relationships with partners in the community and health and social care system, including the Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care System, GPs, health organizations, interest groups, and patient reference groups.
- Promote an organizational culture committed to learning and working together to deliver our vision and strategic objectives.
- Chair our Clinical Safety and Effectiveness Sub-Board and Mental and Complex Health Board.
Requirements
- Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
- Qualified medical professional with membership of the GMC Specialist Register.
- Extensive experience gained as a consultant, with significant clinical and managerial leadership experience.
- Knowledge and experience of clinical governance, service innovation, and development.
- Experience of revalidation and managing budgets.
