About the Role

The Deputy Medical Director will provide strategic leadership and direction in respect of clinical quality and medical safety, working closely with the Medical Director and other senior leaders to drive improvement and innovation across the trust. This will involve:

  1. Providing clinical oversight and strategic leadership for national safety standards, patient safety alerts, and other key initiatives.
  2. Supporting the Director of Transformation in leading engagement with clinical colleagues to implement transformation projects that improve clinical service delivery and patient care.
  3. Being a key member of the Digital Transformation Committee to review and improve clinical systems and processes.
  4. Taking strategic responsibility for clinical service, policy development, and implementation, particularly relating to national or regional initiatives.
