Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Outpatient administrative team as an Outpatient Coordinator.

The role will comprise of booking patient appointments across a range of specialties for the Cancer Bureau. As an Outpatient Coordinator, you will be required to book any patients referred into the trust on a suspected cancer pathway into an appointment in accordance with NHS national targets.

You will also be expected to support across other areas of outpatients should the need arise.

Main Responsibilities

The post holder is responsible for the patient's journey from receipt of referral to appointment. To provide a proficient and effective system, in order to achieve the Trust's targets.

Identify, analyze and resolve issues relating to the patient pathway. To ensure that any subsequent follow-up appointment is patient-focused, efficient and effective.

Incorporating use of all the Trust's systems including: E-Referral Patient Administration system, I-portal and any other systems to achieve a smooth pathway for the patient alongside accurate and safe Data Quality collection.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Previous or current IT use/Skills
  • Previous NHS experience
  • 3 GCSEs or relevant qualifications
  • 1 year + administration experience
