As a Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) or Pharmacist Prescriber within our recovery service, you will play a crucial role in empowering individuals to make positive changes in their lives. You will be part of a supportive and collaborative multidisciplinary team that values your contributions and encourages your professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

In your capacity as a Non-Medical Prescriber or Pharmacist Prescriber, your responsibilities will include:

  • Administering opiate substitute treatment (OST) interventions and managing benzodiazepine reductions.
  • Facilitating alcohol and opiate detoxifications, along with relapse prevention strategies.
  • Conducting health care assessments and administering detoxification medications.
  • Providing Blood Borne Virus (BBV) screening and vaccinations.
  • Collaborating closely with mental health, physical health, and social care services to ensure a holistic approach to recovery.

You will also participate in local prescriber meetings and receive one-on-one clinical supervision, which will enhance your learning and professional development. Our Clinical Services Manager and Clinical Lead will provide comprehensive training and ongoing support to help you excel in your role.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council or hold qualifications as a Pharmacist, along with independent prescriber status. You should possess confidence in managing all aspects of prescribing for opiates and alcohol detoxifications.
