As a Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) or Pharmacist Prescriber, you will play a pivotal role in delivering effective interventions, including opiate substitute treatments, benzodiazepine tapering, and detoxification processes for alcohol and opiates. Your expertise will also extend to conducting health assessments, administering detox medications, and providing essential screenings and vaccinations for Blood Borne Viruses (BBV).

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Engage in opiate substitute treatment (OST) interventions and manage detoxification protocols.
  • Collaborate closely with mental health, physical health, and social care professionals to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
  • Participate in local prescriber meetings and receive ongoing clinical supervision to enhance your professional development.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative service delivery models that prioritize client needs and outcomes.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be:

  • Registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council or a qualified Pharmacist with independent prescriber status.
  • Proficient in managing prescribing for opiates and alcohol detoxification.
  • An excellent communicator, highly organized, and capable of developing personalized support packages.
  • Empathetic and genuinely interested in helping individuals from various backgrounds.
