Position Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of pilot boats and work vessels, adhering to the port's VSM code as applicable. Responsibilities include performing routine planned and reactive maintenance, as well as conducting safety inspections of the vessels and equipment.

In this role, you will support the needs of both internal and external clients, following the HPL prioritization guidelines, while consistently delivering a high standard of customer service.

Work hours will consist of 12-hour shifts, alternating between days and nights on a 4 on 4 off schedule.

Qualifications and Skills

  • GCSE or equivalent qualifications in English, Mathematics, and Science
  • Demonstrated experience in handling small craft (under 24m)
  • MCA/RYA Yacht Master Coastal/Offshore (Power), commercially endorsed
  • STCW 95 certifications: EFA, FP&FF, PST & PSSR
  • VHF radio certification
  • ENG1 medical certificate
  • Familiarity with maritime regulations and codes of practice (preferred)
  • Willingness to work at sea in various weather conditions
  • Commitment to undertake maritime training and instruction
  • Physical fitness to meet ENG1 seafarers medical standards
