Join Our Team as a Geophysical Instrumentation Technician

At Gardline, we are looking for a dedicated Geophysical Instrumentation Technician to become a vital part of our dynamic Geophysical Engineering Workshop Team. In this role, you will engage in the mechanical upkeep, assembly, calibration, and repair of geophysical instruments.

This position is hands-on and leans towards mechanical tasks, while also encompassing the testing and calibration of electronic devices.

Additionally, this role offers opportunities for travel to assist in the mobilization of our vessels across various ports.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections of geophysical instruments to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Execute routine maintenance activities, including cleaning, refurbishing, and replacing worn components, as well as diagnosing and rectifying equipment issues.
  • Calibrate geophysical instruments to guarantee accurate measurements, maintaining detailed records of all maintenance, repairs, and calibrations.
  • Operate forklift trucks and manage the organization of the workshop and storage areas.
  • Support the mobilization of vessels from the base.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure working environment.

Your Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical or maintenance capacity.
  • Preferred knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical/Electronic systems.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
