Key Responsibilities
In collaboration with pharmacists and fellow technicians, you will support the broader clinical team in all facets of prescribing and medication safety. This position aims to spearhead enhancements that ensure safe and effective prescribing practices, ultimately elevating the quality of patient care.
Proficiency in Welsh is preferred for this role; however, applications from both English and Welsh speakers are warmly welcomed.

Job Duties
The Medicines Management Technician will provide specialized technical and clinical support to the Head of Prescribing and Medicines Management, Pharmacists, General Practitioners, Community Pharmacists, and other Health Board members. The goal is to enhance the quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness of prescribing and medicines management on behalf of the organization.
You will also assist the Accountable Officer in overseeing the proper disposal of Controlled Drugs across all sectors of the Health Board and its partners.
Qualifications
Essential
- BTEC Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent (NVQ Level III Pharmaceutical Services)
- Registration with the GPhC
Desirable
- Additional management or clinical qualifications
Experience
Essential
- Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience
Desirable
- Experience in community pharmacy, Health Board, or primary care settings
Skills
Essential
- Proficiency in utilizing information technology, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and database software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
