About Standing Tall

Standing Tall is dedicated to eradicating homelessness by providing tailored support to individuals facing housing instability. Our approach combines stable employment with secure housing, creating a sustainable pathway for those we assist to transition away from homelessness. We are proud to report that 80% of our clients remain successfully housed and employed one year after receiving our support.

When individuals are prepared, we connect them with stable, real Living Wage employment opportunities through our network of employer partners, which includes notable organizations such as Network Rail, Amey, and Lambe Construction. Concurrently, we ensure that these individuals have access to safe housing through our Amici hosting service, facilitating their journey towards independent living.

Since our inception in Birmingham in 2020, we have expanded our services to London and Manchester in 2022, with plans to extend our reach to Liverpool, Leeds, and Bristol soon. By the end of the year, we aim to serve even more communities in the East Midlands, doubling our capacity to assist over 100 individuals annually. Our commitment to social impact was recognized last November when we received Social Enterprise UK's 'One to Watch' Award, and we aspire to grow our operations into major cities across the UK.

Role Overview

The Head of Partnerships will focus on two primary objectives:

1. **Revenue Generation**: As a trading charity, Standing Tall generates income through placement fees charged to our employer partners. Currently, this income covers approximately 50% of our operational costs. The Head of Partnerships will collaborate with the CEO to forge new partnerships with responsible businesses, aiming to increase this figure to at least 70%.

2. **Charitable Income Growth**: The Head of Partnerships will also be instrumental in enhancing Standing Tall's charitable income. Our mission aligns with corporate social responsibility initiatives, making businesses our target audience for fundraising efforts. Utilizing lean startup methodologies, the Head of Partnerships will work alongside the CEO to cultivate relationships with corporations, with specific targets to boost charitable donations by £40,000 in the first year, £90,000 in the second year, and £140,000 in the third year.

To support these efforts, the Head of Partnerships will have the guidance of a trustee with extensive experience in Corporate Partnerships management.

Benefits

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement for 4 days a week, combining remote work with time spent in a local office, including some travel within England.

Standing Tall provides an employment contract with an annual salary of £46,000 pro rata, along with a NEST pension plan.

  • Exceptional motivation and a passion for developing partnerships that advance social justice, demonstrating the ability to embody Standing Tall's mission and values.
  • A proactive Resource Investigator, always exploring innovative approaches to collaboration and adept at nurturing relationships with external stakeholders.
  • A proven track record in one or more of the following areas: marketing and sales, business development in recruitment, experience in the homelessness sector, management of high-value relationships, fundraising, corporate social responsibility, or employer engagement.
  • Strong commercial acumen, capable of identifying opportunities to generate financial surpluses and committed to building a sustainable business model that delivers social impact.
  • A commitment to quality, ensuring the highest standards of relationship management.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to articulate organizational messages and collaborate with key staff to enhance outreach to external audiences.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, working collaboratively to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Financial competence, with the ability to assess and report on the financial health and sustainability of the organization.
  • An understanding of corporate responsibility, with a strong commercial mindset for negotiating contracts.
  • Evidence of successfully securing new partnerships or expanding existing ones, whether in the private or third sector.
