Position Title: Investment Fund Ratings Associate
Entity: Kroll Bond Rating Agency UK Limited
Employment Type: Full-time
Kroll Bond Rating Agency Europe Limited (KBRA UK) is on the lookout for an Associate to enhance our expanding Funds Ratings division in the London office. The Funds Ratings team is responsible for assigning and monitoring credit ratings for various debt instruments issued by funds, including closed-end funds and other investment vehicles. Our diverse ratings portfolio includes funds that utilize a range of asset growth and income generation strategies, such as fixed income securities, private equity, private credit, real estate, and middle market lending. We seek a candidate with a strong background and keen interest in fund investment and credit strategies.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct credit research on a variety of funds and investment vehicles.
- Assist in developing rating and analytical tools, including cash flow and asset coverage models for evaluating fund debt structures.
- Prepare and present internal credit memos and publications, both quantitatively and qualitatively.
- Engage in diligence meetings with fund management teams to evaluate their investment strategies and risk management capabilities.
- Create and maintain complex spreadsheets and databases.
- Collaborate with KBRA experts across various sectors such as project finance, corporate finance, financial institutions, and structured finance.
- Support research initiatives for internal and publication purposes.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Mathematics, or a related field that demonstrates strong analytical skills.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a credit analyst, particularly in fund lending, investing, or structured finance.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment and navigate a dynamic workplace.
- Strong time management skills to handle responsibilities in a fast-paced organization.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills are essential.
- Proficiency in Advanced Excel; cash flow modeling experience is preferred.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Familiarity with SQL and VBA for database querying is a significant advantage.
- Progress towards CFA designation is a plus.
Kroll Bond Rating Agency, LLC (KBRA) is a comprehensive credit rating agency registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as an NRSRO. KBRA Europe Limited is recognized as a CRA by the European Securities and Markets Authority, while KBRA UK Limited is registered with the UK Financial Conduct Authority. KBRA is also acknowledged by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners as a Credit Rating Provider.
