About the Role

The Research Governance Administrator will play a crucial role in supporting the Research Governance Officer in ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements associated with research projects. The successful candidate will assist with research governance and ethics administration, maintain the College's online research ethics and governance review system, and support the College Research Ethics Committee.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive team, contributing to the success of research projects across the University. The successful candidate will have excellent organisational, decision-making, and communication skills, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with research governance and ethics administration, including maintaining the College's online research ethics and governance review system
  • Support the College Research Ethics Committee and provide administrative assistance as required
  • Assist in the roll-out of a University-wide online ethics system
  • Provide support to the Research Governance Officer in ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements associated with research projects
  • Produce regular reports for projects requiring University sponsorship and/or NHS Research Ethics and R&D approval
Requirements
  • Ability to deal appropriately with confidential data and act with discretion on sensitive information
  • Well-developed organisational, decision-making, time management, and prioritisation skills
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply relevant policies and procedures
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, both in writing and in person
  • Resourcefulness and ability to use sound judgement, initiative, and have a proactive approach to seeking out information
