Position Summary:

In the role of Senior Finance Manager – Planning and Strategy, you will spearhead financial planning and analytical initiatives, overseeing the development of business plans and liaising with various stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include managing Cargo investments and monitoring project financials, while delivering strategic insights and supporting executive presentations. You will also focus on continuous improvement through process enhancements and cultivate strong cross-functional relationships. Leading the finance team, mentoring junior staff, and driving financial strategies will be essential aspects of your role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead comprehensive financial planning and analysis, guiding the business plan process with established timelines and coordinating with the head of finance, CFO, and CET.
  • Oversee the Cargo investment process, including capital expenditure reporting and planning.
  • Provide financial support in maintaining a tracking framework to ensure strategic projects meet their financial goals, analyzing and interpreting the financial status of these initiatives.
  • Manage the assessment of benefits and costs associated with various initiatives, including transformation programs.
  • Deliver insightful business analysis and challenge key business decisions through regular reporting and ad-hoc evaluations.
  • Assist in preparing board papers and presentations for the Management Committee.
  • Generate market and strategic insights, developing scenario planning capabilities to enhance forecasting processes.
  • Conduct competitor benchmarking.
  • Support ad hoc projects with expertise in complex data analysis to ensure informed decision-making.
  • Drive and support change initiatives, delivering continuous process improvements through automation and standardization.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to monitor internal processes and assist with FP&A deliverables as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with finance and non-finance colleagues across the organization.
  • Lead the finance team and broader business planning, reporting, and strategy efforts as required.
  • Provide training, coaching, and supervision to junior staff.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA) or equivalent experience.

Essential Experience:

  • Strong accounting background with experience in reporting and financial analysis.
  • Solid understanding of finance theory and practical experience in technical group accounting.
  • Extensive FP&A experience, including analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and management reporting.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Proven ability to work within a large organization and engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in reporting for executive teams.
  • Proficient in finance systems, preferably including SAP, Excel, Hyperion, Anaplan, HFM, Tableau, Power BI, or Business Objects.
  • Commercial awareness to understand external global threats and their potential impact on the business.

Desirable Experience:

  • Conversational proficiency in another language, such as Spanish.
  • Familiarity with the aviation or logistics sectors.
