Teaching Personnel is a leading education staffing provider, and we're currently seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants for various secondary schools in the area.

We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Learning Support Assistant at a Secondary School in Bedford. This role offers a temp to perm contract, with the potential for permanent employment after 12-16 weeks if both parties are satisfied.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in preparing lesson materials and resources.
  • Set up and tidy classrooms to create a conducive learning environment.
  • Provide individualized or small group support to students, helping them grasp concepts and achieve their academic goals.
  • Monitor student progress, recording observations and reporting findings to teachers.
  • Offer comfort and support to students who are feeling unwell or distressed.
  • Lead classroom activities under the guidance of the teacher.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Previous experience in a school setting is highly advantageous.
  • Possess a friendly, confident, and calm demeanor when interacting with students.
  • Have prior experience working with children or young adults.
  • Demonstrate adaptability and sensitivity when working with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding practices and child protection policies is essential.
  • Be passionate about fostering student success in academic, emotional, and social domains.
  • Exhibit a calming presence and the ability to engage effectively with pupils (Year 7 to Year 11).
  • Dedicate yourself to ensuring that all students reach their full potential.
  • Contribute positively to the school's values, ethos, and development.
