About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a specialist school in Braintree. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Moderate and Severe Learning Disabilities (MLD and SLD) in small groups or one-to-one settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with MLD and SLD in small groups or one-to-one settings to improve engagement, interaction, and raise attainment.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to deliver tailored support and interventions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior support plans (BSPs).
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications and training in Learning Support or a related field.
  • Experience working with students with MLD and SLD, or a willingness to learn and develop your skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced learning environment.
