We are seeking a dedicated social worker to join our integrated Looked After Children service. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with children and young people between the ages of 0-18, providing assessment, care planning, and permanency planning services.
Key Responsibilities- Hold a caseload of children and young people, ensuring timely assessment and care planning
- Work closely with family law care proceedings, demonstrating good working knowledge of the legislative framework
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including LAC CAMHS clinicians, the Virtual School for Looked After Children, and specialist health and mediation services
- Progress work within statutory timescales, ensuring Looked After Children Reviews, Personal Education Planning Meetings, and Looked After Children Medicals are completed on time
- Work with unaccompanied asylum seeking children, taking part in age assessments and designing creative interventions to improve outcomes
- Good experience of working in children's social care, with some experience in family law care proceedings
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, and proficiency in using Microsoft Office packages
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team, reporting to a senior practitioner
