Cheshire West and Chester Council's Family Help and Support Team is a key component of the Early Help and Prevention Service, delivering high-quality services for local children and their families, including refugee families. Our team ensures the right support is offered at the right time, providing an intensive, high-quality support and advocacy intervention to families with multiple issues, securing better outcomes for children and promoting positive and sustained change amongst families and communities across Cheshire West and Chester.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the work of Family Intervention Workers, who play a key role in assessing the needs of children aged 0-18 and their families with complex and multiple needs.
  • Deliver a package of interventions using the Team Around the Family process, working towards sustained outcomes for families.
  • Advocate for families, ensuring they are signposted to effective support and empowering them to make informed decisions about their futures with clear management oversight and guidance.

The Early Help and Support thematic is underpinned by trauma-informed approaches that are responsive to need and have an inclusive and partnership focus.
