About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing pastoral support and guidance to students, including monitoring attendance, behaviour, and academic progress. They will also implement strategies and interventions to promote positive behaviour, wellbeing, and engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Act as the primary point of contact for students, parents, and staff within the designated year group
  2. Provide pastoral support and guidance to students, including monitoring attendance, behaviour, and academic progress
  3. Implement strategies and interventions to promote positive behaviour, wellbeing, and engagement
  4. Liaise with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to address individual student needs and concerns
  5. Organise and facilitate year group events, assemblies, and enrichment activities to promote a sense of belonging and community
  6. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student welfare, progress, and interventions
Requirements
  1. Previous experience in a pastoral or student support role within a school setting is essential
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers
  3. Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities and work effectively under pressure
  4. A genuine passion for supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of young people
  5. Resilience, empathy, and a compassionate approach to working with students from diverse backgrounds and abilities
  6. Relevant qualifications or training in pastoral care, youth work, or a related field (desirable)
