**The Role**

An opportunity has arisen to join the team of this well-established wedding venue and holiday accommodation property. We are seeking a competent and experienced Wedding Coordinator to work alongside the current team. You will be Co-ordinating and overseeing all events to increase the sales and profitability, through assisting in the effective sales and reservations process from an enquiry through to the completion of an event for all markets to include accommodation, weddings, and events. Ensuring that all objectives and targets are met.

You will be responsible for assisting with the end-to-end planning and coordination of weddings held at Upper House from in person planning meetings, taking charge of venue viewings, introducing clients to suppliers, creating table plans, to dealing with enquiries, answering telephone calls and liaising with potential clients, suppliers and staff to an exacting standard. Alongside this main role you will also support the management of the holiday letting side of the business.

You will need to be well presented and articulate with the ability to work under pressure in a busy, demanding and exciting environment.

**The Venue**

Upper House in Hayfield dates back to the 14th Century in parts and is the former hunting lodge of Sir James Watts, stooped in History with ties to Agatha Christie amongst others. Now the property is a high end, Boutique Wedding Venue and luxury self-catering accommodation having the facilities to host events with up to 120 guests and accommodation for up to 26 guests. We have built an excellent reputation for bespoke weddings in the North Derbyshire and Cheshire areas and are regarded as a stunning luxury stay destination. We are situated in 30 acres of breath-taking grounds on the side of Kinder Scout, overlooking Kinder Reservoir which provide a fairy tale location for our wedding clients and staying guests

**Main features of the role**:

- Overseeing and managing full process of events, from being the lead point of contact pre-events, on the day of events, including meeting and greeting and supporting the closure post events.
- Responding to all sales leads and converting to confirmed bookings, including show rounds with potential clients
- Managing all bookings and ensuring any agreed terms for events are completed
- Building promotional and advertising campaigns to drive new leads and business
- Planning the annual calendar of events in conjunction with management
- Achieving targets and objectives as set and agreed with management
- Managing the relationship with key suppliers and ordering stock, supplies, materials etc in good time
- Obtain client feedback to review future and ongoing practices
- Escalating and feeding back queries to management for resolution
- Over seeing the sourcing, ordering and purchasing / stock taking / bar management / managing bar staff and event staff pre, during and post event.
- Updating marketing listings and working with IT to update the Upper House website / sourcing
- You will be involved in the planning and delivery of events as well as attending events
- Helping in the day to day running and duties involved in preparation and upkeep of the venue

**Key essentials;**
- You will have a minimum of 2 years work experience in this sector
- Be able to work under pressure
- Have good Social Media skills
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Hold a (DPS) Personal License but not essential
- Have common sense and be able to work on their own initiative
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken to the highest level
- Be passionate about the Events Industry and Hospitality.
- You will be liaising directly with clients from conception to delivery of events.

**We are looking for someone who can demonstrate**:

- Experience in a similar or same role (minimum 2 years)
- Previous and proven ability to manage events and deliver on sales targets
- Strong Interpersonal and customer interaction
- Target and sales drives approach to maximise targets and meet objectives
- Knowledge of the local surroundings and regions
- Excellent attention to detail
- Administrative duties and financial awareness
- Flexible around work hours and weekend work
- Working independently and confidently
- Ability to travel and drive
- Events generally take place on weekends, primarily Saturdays and you will required to work on these days. Must be flexible and able to work evenings and weekends
- Stay away from home.
- You will need to have the ability to work under pressure and keep a level head whilst being able to use your initiative and follow instructions within a varied environment.
