Overview
***INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY PLEASE***
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Project Coordination Specialist to assist in the successful execution of various initiatives at Uppark. Currently, we are managing two significant construction projects that require immediate project expertise to ensure seamless delivery and effective management of interdependencies.
This is a pivotal moment for Uppark as we embark on essential improvements to our facilities, aiming to secure a sustainable future for this historic site within the South Downs National Park.
Work Environment
You will join the London and South East Consultancy team, a diverse group of professionals, including building surveyors, conservators, project managers, and archaeologists, who provide expert consultancy services to enhance the sites we manage.
Your primary work location will be the National Trust estate office at Uppark, collaborating closely with the operational team on-site. Our flexible working policy allows you to balance office and remote work, alongside site visits and meetings at other National Trust locations. Expect to spend 40–60% of your working week at a National Trust site.
Key Responsibilities
A major focus of this role during the initial months will be to support the project manager in the delivery of the Uppark Sewage Project. This project is currently in progress and involves extensive collaboration with various stakeholders, impacting the local community and environment. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the project manager with governance, budget tracking, and communication efforts, both internally and externally.
- Collaborating with the project client and sponsor to ensure alignment and transparency.
- Supporting the preparation of governance documentation as the project approaches its final phases.
The Uppark Essential Repairs Project is in its preliminary stages, and you will aid the project manager in developing and maintaining critical documentation and processes, including scheduling, financial planning, and risk management. Close collaboration with the project manager and project coordinator will be essential to successfully deliver this high-priority conservation initiative.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We invite applications from individuals who possess the following qualifications:
- Proven experience in project delivery aligned with National Trust Governance and Project Management Framework.
- Familiarity with best practice project processes and documentation, adhering to APM (or similar) Project Management standards.
- Strong communication skills, capable of fostering positive working relationships.
- Excellent listening abilities, with a commitment to providing high-quality service to colleagues.
- Detail-oriented, with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- A strong advocate for inclusion, ensuring a welcoming environment for all team members.
