We present an excellent opportunity for Project Management Assistants from the construction or energy sectors to become integral members of our on-site team at Sizewell C.

This role is crucial to the success of SZC, and you will be joining the project during a critical phase of its construction, with ample opportunities for professional growth.


Role Overview

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will be stationed on-site at Sizewell C, assisting our project managers in the execution of highways, associated structures, and utility services, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and timelines to facilitate the successful development of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

In your capacity as an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a vital role in shaping SZC through the advancement of innovative infrastructure. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide array of projects, including but not limited to:


• Design and construction of both on-site and off-site infrastructure

• Development of Park and Ride facilities

• Railway construction

• Accommodation campus establishment

• Installation of temporary cabins

• Creation of temporary construction access roads

• Development of hardstandings

• Utility network installations (including potable water, communications & data, power, fire-fighting water, etc.)

• Highway construction (including bypasses and public realm works to adoptable standards)


Required Qualifications:

You should possess proven experience in project management within large-scale infrastructure, construction, or energy projects, ideally from a client-side perspective, such as HS2, HPC, Thames Tideway, CrossRail, or Transport for London (TfL).

A background in Civil Engineering is essential.

You must demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.

Familiarity with safety and regulatory standards in the energy or construction sectors is crucial.

Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams is required.

You should have a history of working with extensive supply chains of professional and technical service providers, including managing designers, contractors, and suppliers.

Experience in procurement processes, contract management, and working within a regulated environment is necessary.

Knowledge of CDM regulations is advantageous.

A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and develop are essential.

You must possess the ability to manage both external and internal stakeholders effectively.

Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills are required.

A qualification in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field would be beneficial.
