In the role of Industry Settlements Manager, you will take charge of overseeing and managing the industry settlement processes within the UK energy sector. This position necessitates a comprehensive understanding of energy market operations, regulatory compliance, and outstanding analytical and leadership capabilities.

Key ResponsibilitiesSettlements Management:
  • Oversee the complete industry settlement processes, ensuring precision and punctuality in alignment with industry codes and regulations.
  • Analyze settlement data to pinpoint discrepancies, investigate underlying causes, and implement corrective measures.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to refine processes and enhance settlement performance.
  • Lead a team of Settlement Advisors to optimize settlement outcomes and mitigate imbalance exposure.
  • Manage meter reading performance across the entire portfolio (NHH, HH, and Gas), minimizing long-term unread meters.
  • Ensure accurate Gas reconciliation for the Yu Energy Shipper, processing all metering and reading data within industry timelines.
  • Play a pivotal role in the transition to Market Wide Half Hourly Settlement, overseeing the establishment and implementation of new settlement processes related to the initiative.
Regulatory Compliance:
  • Stay informed about regulatory changes and industry advancements related to settlements, ensuring adherence to relevant codes and regulations.
  • Provide direction to the team regarding regulatory requirements and changes affecting settlement operations.
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Establish and maintain robust relationships with industry stakeholders, including Ofgem, Elexon, and other market participants.
  • Serve as the primary contact for settlement-related inquiries and escalations.
Reporting and Analysis:
  • Generate and present regular reports on settlement performance, emphasizing key metrics and areas for enhancement.
  • Utilize data analytics tools to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities for process improvements.
