In the role of Industry Settlements Manager, you will be tasked with supervising and managing the industry settlement operations within the UK energy sector. This position necessitates a comprehensive understanding of energy market functions, regulatory adherence, and outstanding analytical and leadership capabilities.

Key ResponsibilitiesSettlements Management:
  • Oversee the complete industry settlement operations, ensuring precision and punctuality in line with industry standards and regulations.
  • Examine and interpret settlement data to pinpoint inconsistencies, investigate underlying causes, and execute corrective measures.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to refine processes and enhance settlement efficiency.
  • Lead a team of Settlement Advisors to improve settlement outcomes and mitigate imbalance risks.
  • Supervise meter reading performance across the entire portfolio (NHH, HH, and Gas), aiming to minimize long-term unread meters.
  • Accountable for the Gas reconciliation for the Yu Energy Shipper, ensuring all metering and reading data is processed within industry timelines and that billing is accurate.
  • Play a pivotal role in the transition to Market Wide Half Hourly Settlement, ensuring the establishment and execution of new settlement processes related to the initiative.
Regulatory Compliance:
  • Keep informed about regulatory updates and industry advancements concerning settlements, ensuring adherence to applicable codes and regulations.
  • Provide direction to the team regarding regulatory obligations and changes affecting settlement operations.
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Develop and sustain robust relationships with industry stakeholders, including Ofgem, Elexon, and other market participants.
  • Serve as the primary contact for settlement-related inquiries and escalations.
Reporting and Analysis:
  • Produce and present regular reports on settlement performance, emphasizing key metrics and areas for enhancement.
  • Utilize data analytics tools to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities for process improvements.
