About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant in Palliative Care to join our dynamic team at North Bristol NHS Trust. As a key member of our Palliative Care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to patients with palliative and end-of-life needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in palliative care to patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Develop and implement effective care plans to meet the complex needs of patients with palliative and end-of-life conditions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical governance structures, audit processes, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Teach and supervise postgraduate doctors in training, medical students, and other healthcare professionals in palliative care.
  • Participate in research, education, and quality improvement activities to advance the field of palliative care.
Requirements
  • Full GMC registration and entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Palliative Medicine.
  • Higher postgraduate membership qualification (e.g., MRCP/MRCGP) and experience in palliative care.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in audit projects, written up and presented.
