About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Palliative Care to join our team at North Bristol NHS Trust. As a Consultant in Palliative Care, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with palliative needs, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical care to patients with palliative needs, including symptom management, psychological support, and end-of-life care.
  • Work collaboratively with our team to develop and implement care plans that meet the individual needs of our patients.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of education and training programs for healthcare professionals, focusing on palliative care best practices.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and experiences.
  • Engage in research and audit activities to advance the field of palliative care.
Requirements
  • Full GMC registration and entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Palliative Medicine.
  • Higher postgraduate membership qualification (e.g., MRCP/MRCGP).
  • Experience in palliative care, including symptom management, psychological support, and end-of-life care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to teach and mentor healthcare professionals in palliative care best practices.
