About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Paediatric Advanced Critical Care Practitioner to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in our Paediatric Critical Care Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in partnership with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide evidence-based care and support.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account the unique needs and circumstances of each patient.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care transitions and effective communication.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with best practice and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and contributing to the development of solutions.
  • Provide education and training to colleagues and students, promoting best practice and advancing the skills and knowledge of the team.
Requirements
  • Registered Healthcare Professional (NMC, HCPC, or GPhC)
  • First-level degree in an undergraduate base profession
  • MSc in Advanced Practice or equivalent in a relevant field
  • Specialist postgraduate education or qualifications relevant to Paediatric Critical Care
  • Relevant training for extended skills and imaging interpretation (IRMER)
  • APLS - Advanced Paediatric Life Support Course
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Paediatric field registration or other relevant qualifications
  • Mentoring or Facilitating Workplace Learning Qualification
  • Leadership Course or Qualification
  • Professional ACP Credential from recognized professional body pathways (FICM) or NHSE
  • APLS Instructor

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others

Technical Skills
  • Computer literate with experience of working with Microsoft Office packages
  • Advanced keyboard skills, ensuring fluent documentation
