Role Overview:As the Claims Fraud Operations Manager at Zego, you will lead a team of fraud investigators focused on identifying, probing, and combating fraudulent claims. Your main responsibility will be to manage the daily functions of the team, ensuring that fraud cases are addressed proactively while maintaining a strong emphasis on quality and excellence, all while applying a practical and business-oriented perspective. This position demands exceptional leadership abilities, a comprehensive understanding of motor insurance and fraud, and the capacity to collaborate effectively across various departments.
Key Responsibilities:- Team Leadership & Management:
- Guide, manage, and cultivate a team of claims fraud investigators, promoting a culture of excellence and ongoing enhancement.
- Establish clear performance benchmarks, conduct regular evaluations, and provide continuous coaching and support to team members.
- Ensure the team operates effectively, with clearly defined roles, responsibilities, and objectives.
- Conduct regular one-on-one review sessions with team members as agreed with your supervisor, ensuring development plans and priorities are established for continuous improvement through self-learning, including growth and goal setting.
- Fraud Detection & Investigation:
- Supervise the identification, investigation, and resolution of potential fraud cases within the claims process.
- Guarantee that all claims flagged for fraud are meticulously investigated, with suitable actions taken to mitigate risks.
- Review and endorse fraud investigation reports, ensuring precision and adherence to company standards.
- Operational Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the claims fraud team, including case assignments, workload distribution, and process optimization.
- Develop and implement best practices for fraud detection and claims management, ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess team performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Collaborate closely with other departments, including Claims, Underwriting, Legal, Compliance, and Customer Service, to ensure a unified approach to fraud prevention.
- Engage with external stakeholders, such as panel solicitors, law enforcement, industry organizations, and fraud prevention networks, to enhance fraud detection capabilities.
- Communicate findings and insights from fraud investigations to senior management and other relevant stakeholders.
- Training & Development:
- Identify training requirements within the team and provide suitable development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Conduct regular quality audits on claims investigators.
- Stay informed about the latest trends and techniques in fraud detection and prevention, ensuring the team is updated on relevant developments.
What you'll need to be successful
- Experience in motor insurance claims; while fraud experience is beneficial, it is not mandatory if the candidate can demonstrate a robust operational background.
- Experience in coaching and mentoring.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
