Job Summary

The Independent Schools Council is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Learning Support Coordinator to lead our SEND department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of our SEND policy and working closely with the Assistant Head Teaching and Learning to review and develop the work of the SEND department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the Exam Access arrangement processes to ensure successful outcomes for students with additional learning needs.
  • Teach and support highly academic students with special educational needs, providing tailored support to meet their individual requirements.
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to develop and implement strategies to support students with SEND.
  • Ensure that all records are kept to the highest standard, in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Head Teaching and Learning to review and develop the work of the SEND department, ensuring that it is aligned with the school's overall vision and goals.

Requirements

  • Experience of coordinating Exam Access arrangement processes and teaching students with special educational needs.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with teachers, support staff, and students.
  • Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and ability to apply it in practice.
