Job Title: Autism Teaching Assistant

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Autism Teaching Assistant to join our team at Engage Education. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing one-to-one and group support to students with Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties, Physical Disabilities, SEMH, and ADHD.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with Autism, focusing on their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Assist teachers in creating and implementing personalized learning plans to meet the needs of students with Autism.
  • Develop and maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes social and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to supporting students with Autism.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness, and making recommendations for future support.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with Autism and other special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meeting the needs of students.
  • Knowledge of autism and its impact on learning and behavior, with a commitment to providing inclusive and supportive education.
  • Relevant qualifications and training in special education, autism, or a related field.
