Position Overview

Clinical Lead - Infection Control Link Nurse

Ramsay Health Care is seeking a Clinical Lead - Infection Control Link Nurse to take on a pivotal role within our healthcare facility on a part-time basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough surveillance to detect and monitor infections within the healthcare environment.
  • Provide expert guidance on Infection Prevention and Control matters, contributing to the formulation and enhancement of local protocols aligned with overarching policies.
  • Facilitate training and educational initiatives focused on Infection Prevention and Control.
  • Attend and present reports at Infection Control and Clinical Governance Committees.
  • Perform environmental assessments for infection prevention and control, ensuring actionable plans are developed and implemented.
  • Collaborate closely with department heads regarding Infection Prevention and Control issues.
  • Foster a safe environment for patients, their families, visitors, and healthcare professionals through effective communication and infection control practices.
  • Oversee all aspects of Infection Prevention and Control within the facility on behalf of the Hospital Director.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Active NMC registration.
  • A minimum of 30 credits at level 5 or 6 in relevant Infection Prevention and Control modules or a recognized qualification with a willingness to pursue further education.
  • A teaching or assessing qualification is desirable.
  • A compassionate and empathetic demeanor.
  • A strong commitment to patient support and teamwork.
  • Decision-making capabilities and the ability to act independently.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A flexible and positive approach to work.
