Position Overview

Clinical Lead - Infection Control Link Nurse | Ramsay Health Care | Part Time

Ramsay Health Care is seeking a Clinical Lead - Infection Control Link Nurse to enhance our team on a part-time basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct surveillance to identify and monitor infections within the healthcare facility.
  • Provide expert advice on Infection Prevention and Control matters and assist in the interpretation and development of local procedures aligned with organizational policies.
  • Facilitate training and educational sessions on Infection Prevention and Control topics.
  • Attend and present reports at Infection Control and Clinical Governance Committees.
  • Perform environmental audits to ensure compliance with infection prevention standards, developing and implementing action plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with department heads regarding Infection Prevention and Control issues.
  • Foster a safe environment for patients, their families, visitors, and healthcare professionals by utilizing infection prevention knowledge and effective communication skills.
  • Oversee all aspects of Infection Prevention and Control initiatives within the facility on behalf of the Hospital Director.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Minimum of 30 credits at level 5 or 6 in relevant Infection Prevention and Control modules or a recognized qualification in Infection Prevention and Control, with a willingness to pursue further education.
  • A teaching or assessing qualification is desirable.
  • A compassionate and empathetic demeanor.
  • A strong commitment to supporting patients and the healthcare team.
  • Ability to make informed decisions and demonstrate initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A flexible and positive approach to work.
